Guidepost to Wholehearted Living – December 2014
Cultivating Creativity: Letting Go of Comparison

This month we are beginning our year-long focus on wholehearted living. The guidepost Andrew and I have chosen for this December that of “Cultivating Creativity: Letting Go of Comparison.” Throughout the month we will strive to let this principle guide our thoughts, actions, interactions, and decisions and, when appropriate, we will share our discoveries with all of you.

Our thoughts on this Guidepost:
+ Comparing Our Service to Others
Goodbye Pinterest, Hello Christmas Cheer
+ Comparing Christmases – On Nacatamales, Generosity, and Love

We invite you to join the conversation:
+ What ways are you comparing yourself to others?
+ How can you cultivate authentic creativity in your own life?

  1. So what are your thoughts:
+ What ways are you comparing yourself to others?
+ How can you cultivate authentic creativity in your own life?

Please share your reply in the comments below.

    1. I love being able to nurture creativity through my research on creative play with preschoolers at our local science museum! The most creative kiddos take joy in being inventive and trying new approaches. I want to emulate this in a class on human computer interaction I am teaching next term. How can I try a new approach to a class I teach every year?

  2. Hi Kids: Just thinking about you and all your adventures. You are doing goodwill for others and for yourself. It sounds like you are growing in so many ways. Sending you good health, wishes and hugs. Chris

    1. Love the hugs and good-health-wishes. We’re certainly trying to take care of ourselves while still finding ways to grow and be challenged. This is definitely one of those areas, for me especially. Thanks for thinking of us!
