“El Trabajo de mi Tía” – A Snapshot of our Spanish Class

If you haven’t been able to tell from our previous posts, Emily and I love our Spanish classes here in Nicaragua! Our teachers are great, and we feel so fortunate to spend 20+ hours a week with them in our classes of two & three students, write, listen, and read 100% in Spanish, and it is equal parts exhausting and awesome. To give you a snapshot of what our class looks like, and to give a shout-out to my wonderful Tía Linda who is celebrating her “womb emigration” day today, I thought I’d post a Spanish essay I wrote in class to practice writing about responsibilities:

  1. Even tho I can’t read much of this, I can tell it’s about your awesome Tia Linda and Project Access Now. What a fun blog post for her birthday! I hope she has an awesome day too! Good job on preaching in Spanish! Fun to meet the church members in Nica!

    1. Thanks Mamma! I think the sermon went really well. I took a video of it, and it caught almost all of it before the battery died. Emily’s host mother watched it, and said she did an amazing job, and that she understood Emily perfectly. The file is massive though, so I need to find somewhere to leave my computer connect to wifi overnight in order to upload it. We shall see! Love you lots.

  2. I understood almost all of that! I’m very jealous of all your spanish language immersion. So glad you guys are having a wonderful time!

  3. Had trouble with some of your essay. Just kidding, don’t know a word you wrote. Fun to see it though.
    Love to both, Grandma
